Dr. Schmierer attended the East Brunswick High School in East Brunswick, New Jersey, before graduating from Syracuse University in Syracuse, New York. Dr. Schmierer obtained his doctor of podiatric medicine degree from the New York College of Podiatric Medicine in New York City, before completing post-graduate training and a podiatric surgical residency at St. John’s Episcopal Hospital in Far Rockaway, New York. Expanding his knowledge and skillset and remaining active in the field of podiatry are important to Dr. Schmierer. He’s board-certified in foot surgery and a diplomate of the American Board of Podiatric Surgery. He’s a fellow of the American College of Foot and Ankle Surgeons, American Podiatric Medical Association, New Jersey Podiatric Medical Society, and the American Association of Hospital Podiatrist. Dr. Schmierer is affiliated with the Jersey Shore University Hospital in Neptune, New Jersey, Saint Peter’s University Hospital in New Brunswick, New Jersey, and the University Medical Center of Princeton in Princeton, New Jersey.
